Genie Insights and MIPV have been strong partners in the supply of solar panels for commercial vehicles since 2019, together supplying more than 6,000 panels to the sector, with applications ranging from compact 50w solutions to 1.1kW multi-panel systems.  Today, the companies are pleased to announce their reaffirmed commitment to the sector with a distribution agreement that formalises the relationship.

MIPV is the UK’s only manufacturer of copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) solar panels, which have disrupted the commercial vehicle solar industry.  Their streamlined, flexible, and shatterproof design outperforms the traditional mono- and polycrystalline panels trialled by the industry earlier in the 2000s on performance, durability and adaptability.

Genie Insights is a fleet technology specialist which supports MIPV’s manufacturing facility with a route to market for its transport related products, and delivers a range of value-added services to the customer.  The company is set up to distribute MIPV’s solar panels via its established stock management, logistics and installation network, and works with its reputable installers to provide approved, high quality installation procedures.  In addition to providing packaged solar solution kits, which include all components required to complete an installation, uniquely, Genie Insights can supply a full solution which is EC whole vehicle type approved.

Together Genie Insights and MIPV have earned the trust of high-profile customers, including supermarkets, temperature-controlled and high value goods logistics operators, electric van fleets and waste/municipal companies, amongst others.  As well as having standard, tried and tested solutions, Genie Insights, supported by MIPV’s technical department, can also design bespoke systems specifically to customer requirements.  Tailored solutions can be modelled based on a customer’s power demands, battery efficiency, location and the ‘real estate’ available on the vehicle’s roof.

MIPV’s Chairman, Daniel Pillai, had this to say about the partnership:

“MIPV is delighted with the progress made in its collaboration with Genie Insights in advancing the use of its Flextron CIGS solar modules in reducing emissions, extending battery life of ICEs and extending range of EVs in commercial fleet operations. The professional and dedicated way in which Genie Insights has served its customers is complimentary to MIPV’s own ethos of quality and robust products, which are fit for purpose and are professionally designed, manufactured and commissioned and backed up by excellent post installation support. We look forward to continued success in rolling out this technology with Genie Insights.”
